The HP JetDirect 170X Print Server is an external print server that allows you to connect your printer, plotter, or HP All-In-One peripherals with scanning capabilities directly to your network.The JetDirect 170X print server is among the industry's lowest price-to-performance server. It includes an RJ-45 port for 10Base-T unshielded twisted-pair cable and DB25 female connector. And it complies with IEEE 1284 bi-directional parallel port standard. The 170x offers reduced wait for print jobs because files print up to six times faster than a file server or PC connection. And it automatically resets after a power failure or when the network shuts down. It's ideal for connecting any printer with a parallel port (except GDI printers or HP DeskJet 710, 720, 820, 1000, HP Laserjet 1200, 1200n, 1220 printers and HP LaserJet 3100 xi Printer-Fax-Copier-Scanner). The HP JetDirect 170x is compatible with laser and ink jet printers, as well as dot matrix and non-HP printers, plus HP OfficeJet Pro All-In-One peripherals.
